Minnesota

We learned about Minnesota in school today. It's where we live.

My 4th Birthday Party

We had a small birthday party at home on my birthday. Ben made lots of decorations for me. His piece de resistance was this huge "happy birthday" banner.

It was a Mickey Mouse themed birthday, so he drew lots of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse pictures.

I also had a Mickey cake!

A Pre-Birthday Visit from Grandma and Grandpa Reemtsma

Grandma Jan and Grandpa Walter surprised us with a visit today. They were up in Minnesota for a wedding and stopped in to visit ahead of my birthday tomorrow. We went to church and then to lunch.

They also brought presents from Uncle Doug and Aunt Serena (as well as their own)!

Nature Day!

Instead of a big musical program or something similar, the Kindergarten classes at Weaver Lake Elementary have Nature Day! Nature Day is when our parents come to visit and we all do fun things related to nature that show all of the math, reading and science stuff that we learned throughout the year.

Both Mom and Dad were able to come.

I was able to show them all of the neat projects we made to prepare the Kindergarten wing for Nature Day. Here is my "naturally good time" picture. We go bowling.

And here is my tulip.

I also made this big fat robin, just like the one that rules the backyard at the north house.

And here is my butterfly.

Here is what everything looked like on the hall together.

And here is how nicely my room was decorated.

We did lots of activities together, like when we made a paper snake and a paper plate turtle.

It wasn't until we got home that we realized the full extent of everything we had done in just over an hour. It was a really fun day!

Earth Day 2008

We both celebrated Earth Day at our respective schools today.

Cameron made veggie prints, using vegetables and natural paints.

I made this painting of the Earth and made the Earth Day pledge.

A Preview of My 4 Year Old Pictures

Yesterday, we went and had my four year old pictures taken. Mommy and Daddy also got the copyright, so we can show them to you here. Of course, you'll all be getting your copies soon.

This is kind of the main pose. We got a lot of these.

This was me on a bench.

Daddy calls this one the evil pose, and got a 5x7 for his office only. You'll have to print your own of this one.

Less evil.

Don't I look like a young man?

You didn't realize I was a senior in high school already, did you?

The New House (so far)

Many of you have asked us about the new house. Our painter, Jim, has been working away and has finished the top floor. He is working on the main floor now and will get to the basement next week. Here are some photos.

This will be your room when you come to visit.

This is Ben's room.

This is my room! Blue!

This is the library upstairs.

This is the library from the other side. You can see into my room!

School Projects From Long Ago...

This is a picture that I drew and painted of myself a long time ago. It was hanging in the hallway at school and we just go to bring them home today.

Swimmy

In my reading program, we read a book about Swimmy the Fish. I drew a picture to show how Swimmy could help the other fish hide from the big fish in a coral forest.

Snow in April?

Why, yes!

But according to what we're learning in school, spring has sprung!
