Pictured Rocks Jr. Rangers!

When we visited Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore back in August, we just missed the rangers at the ranger stations.  So we mailed in all of our work and waited.  And waited.  And waited.  And then one day, our badges, certificates, and patches came in the mail!

Corcoran Country Daze - Karate Demo

Yesterday, my karate school did a demonstration at Corcoran's Country Daze.  It was a lot of fun.

This was our whole demo team.

I was also part of the sparring demo team.

In between demos, I was "arrested" by the Corcoran police.

We also got to check out the rescue helicopter.

Ben took Ainsley down all of the slides.  A lot.

Overall, it was a fun time.

Just a week later, we found ourselves back in Duluth, completing our circle.

Lake Superior Circle Tour - Day 7: Northern Great Lakes Visitor's Center and the Apostle Islands

We didn't have time to really explore the Apostle Islands -- we think we could have spent at least a week there -- but we did get to spend some time at the Northern Great Lakes Visitor's Center.  It is a cooperative venture between the National Park Service, US Fish and Wildlife, the Wisconsin Historical Society, and a number of other organizations.  We spent most of our time there learning about the Apostle Islands so that we could become Junior Rangers.

Lake Superior Circle Tour - Day 7: Marquette and Agate Falls

We started the day in Marquette and decided to head home instead of spending another day on the road.  We did stop at Agate Falls, which is really neat for a rest area trail.

Agate Falls.

Some interesting  work that birds did to a tree near the trail.

There was a neat, old railroad bridge that crossed the trail.
