There's a New Sheriff in Town

Today, I wore my new sheriff shirt and my Daddy took this picture of me. It looks like I'm in jail, but a sheriff can't be put in jail, right?

Fall is Here

Since it's fall, we had caramel apples a few nights ago. They were somewhat messy.



In fact, by the end of the night, I was totally covered in caramel. It took two paper towels and a wash cloth to clean me up.

Today's School Projects for Sept 22 / Bad Weather

Thursday was a busy morning for us. We learned about feet at school and I made this foot. We also had the neighbor's generator running our sump pump, because there were bad tornadoes in the area on Wednesday night and our power was out for 16 hours.



Our house was okay, but you can see lots of leaves in the back yard. The neighbors behind us lost their biggest tree. You can see it chopped down on the ground.



Daddy helped our neighbor with the tree, and we got these cross sections. Daddy helped us count the rings and we figured out that the tree was 13 years old.

PS: We just got cable back tonight (and the cable modem), so we were finally able to post these pictures!

My First Black Eye

Here is a picture of me from last night (around the same time as the picture of our door art work was taken.) You'll notice the big gash on my eye. I biffed it into Mommy and Daddy's bed on Tuesday night and cut my eye open. It doesn't look as bad as it did.

Art on the Door

Today, Cameron and I decorated the door to the garage with magnets and posters. Cameron was responsible for everything below the doorknob and I was responsible for everything above it. Here is a picture of us with our work. Note that I am looking at you through my home made telescope that I built myself.

My First Day of School - 2005

Today was my first day of school for 2005.



I was a little hesitant to go at first...



But then I got to school, found my locker and had a great time.



We even did some crafts, even though it was only half a class. I drew four pictures. Two circles, a birthday cake (lower right) and some orange "dots." (upper left).

Ben's First Day of School - 2005

It was my big brother's first day of school. I didn't know what the big deal was, but Daddy wouldn't let me out on the front porch for pictures, so I snuck into this one through the window.



When we got to Ben's school, I wanted to be in a locker picture too.



The best part of Ben going to school was that we all went to Caribou while he was in class (it was only a half day - one hour). Daddy and I read the paper.



Until I realized that I was reading my section upside down and I didn't have any coffee....

It's a Heat Wave

It was a mid-September heat wave in Minneapolis yesterday and today. It hit 90 yesterday and is supposed to do the same today. Mommy and Daddy set up our pool. Here we are playing in it last night.

My First Twinkie

I ate my first solo twinkie today. It was very good.



My brother had been telling me about how good Twinkies are for some time.



And now I finally believe him!

Backyard Camp Out

Daddy and I camped out in the back yard last night. This is a picture of our tent shortly after the sun came up.

The Finished Bird Feeder

Many of you have asked about the finished bird feeder project. I am proud to announce that we finally put the roof on this morning and we are ready to hang it up outside when it stops raining.

Chaos!

Many of you have either heard the chaos in our house or seen it live in person. For those of you who haven't, I thought I'd show you a small example that happened the other day.

When I saw that Daddy had the camera out, I immediately had to run to it.



My brother didn't want to feel left out, so he got in on it too.
