Drawing Dinosaurs

Aunty Kate got me a kit about drawing dinosaurs. Cameron and I used it today to create some dino art.

Here we both are, hard at work.

Here are my drawings.

Here are Cameron's.

My 7th Birthday

Yesterday was my birthday, and we were having dinner with the Murphys. Mom and Dad made a cake to resemble Michigan Stadium and brought it over there.

Here is the cake.

Here I am with it.

Here I am blowing out the candles.

Here I am with the Murphy kids as we are discussing which part we would each like to eat.

Since I was the birthday boy, I got to eat the "M" from midfield.

Imperial Star Destroyer: Progress Report 3 - The Final Report

I am proud to report that the Imperial Star Destroyer is complete! We spent 3-4 hours last night, and another 3 this morning and we're done!

As you can see from early this morning, we had completed most of the command center last night.

I got back to work first thing this morning.

Success!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Imperial Star Destroyer: Progress Report 2

Neither of us had school today, so we were up and at it pretty early. Here is our progress to date.

One more day of work, and I think we'll be there.

An Early Birthday Celebration

We celebrated my birthday a little early with some of the Reemstma side of the family. I wanted to go to Don Jose in Emmetsburg. I got to wear the big sombrero and they brought me fried ice cream.

Hayden also got to wear the sombrero, as it was almost her birthday as well.

When we got back to the farm, we had a C-3PO cake.

A New Table and Chairs

Hayden's birthday present from us was a table and chair set. As you can see, she had a lot of fun playing at the table after Daddy put it together for her.

The First Grade Thanksgiving Pageant

My class did a small performance for Thanksgiving today. Because my friend had laryngitis, I got to be the master of ceremonies. I got to welcome the parents and tell them to shut their cell phones off.

My part was the letter "H." "It was cold and very hard on the pilgrims during the first winter. They ran out of food and many did not survive."

During the program, we would each bring out part to Mrs. Engebretson, who made this awesome turkey by the end.

Here is a photo of me, Mommy and Cameron at the end.

Homework, Homework, Homework

Even though I was sick this weekend, I still had a lot of homework to do.

Cameron felt left out, so he made up homework for himself to do.

In Case You're Wondering...

In case you're wondering where we've been.... we've both been very busy with school. Also, Ben was sick for the past few days and Cameron now has a runny nose, so we're anticipating illness there as well. We had hoped to have photos from Ben's birthday party for you, but that has been rescheduled. We have a good number of adventures coming up shortly, so look for us to update frequently through the rest of the year.

My Electric Fence

I made an electric fence to keep people out of my room. If you hit the red part, you get shocked and you can't move for two minutes.

Halloween 2008

This Halloween was the first in our new house. It was pretty fun for a lot of reasons.

First, we really liked our costumes. Ben was a clone trooper and Cameron went as your NASCAR Sprint Cup points leader and likely back to back to back champion, Jimmie Johnson.

Yes, Mom and Dad were slightly upset that they spent $40 on a Jedi costume for me to not use it. Perhaps we will have a new tradition of the Christmas Jedi.

Cameron, Ben and Dad went out and gather treats, while Mom passed on treats to trick or treaters. After an hour, Cameron went home to help Mom and Ben and Dad went back out. Here is Ben's haul (he had to count it for homework) -- 179 pieces. Mom and Cameron had 184 visitors.

After all of that, we went to our neighbors for a bonfire, complete with delicious, hot s'mores.

Ben and Cameron
