Our Baby Sister's Room

While she's not born yet, perhaps we can whet your appetite with pictures of her room....

First, we started with a blank slate. You might have remembered this as the guest bedroom. That's now in the basement. We cleaned it out after everyone visited for Cameron's pre-school graduation.

At this point, all we had was the crib, which you might recall was Ben's. Cameron and Dad put it together a few weeks ago. Nothing special at this point, right?

Well, last weekend, we had her furniture delivered and a baby shower on the same day. We also had a lot of friends send in their old baby girl clothes and quite frankly, we're pretty good shoppers as well. Here is the result...

It's starting to look like a room now, but it wasn't very girly. We helped Daddy solve that problem, while Mommy worked on washing her clothes and putting them away.

After a lot more washing and cleaning by Mom and flower and dot placing by us and Dad, we are proud to present our sister's room!

We would also like to introduce you to Ruby, who joins Peanut and Max in a line of "stuffed growth charts."

Some First Grade Catch Ups

Here are some catch ups from the end of first grade.

First, my teacher handed out a lot of awards on the last day. Here is one of mine for doing all of my math home links. Did anyone think I wouldn't have all of them done with my mom and dad on the case?

Here is my certificate for achieving my reading goal, which I did twice.

And here is my certificate for completing first grade!

Here are some other things I did in first grade that we filed away today. The first is my book report on Arthur Ashe.

The other two things are from our Mother's Day and Father's Day celebrations.

Be sure to ask me about this one when you come to visit.

My Week at Problem Puzzlers

I attended a summer math camp called Problem Puzzlers this week. Mom and Cameron came to our open house. Here are a few pictures.

This is me and my team's marble works contraption. Marble works was my favorite part of the week.

Here I am helping Cameron solve a triangle puzzle. We also did a lot of tan gram puzzles.

This was my word puzzle. You'll have to ask me about this one in person.

Here is my official soccer picture. Ben's got messed up, but we'll post them soon too! When we get them, your copies will probably be in the mail.

More Soccer Highlights

As per every Tuesday and Thursday until the end of July, we both had soccer games tonight.

Cameron had the early game, and it was hot out.

Ben's game was the late game and he scored an awesome open field goal!
The shot...

Success!

Our Garden: Update #3

Here is an update on our garden. As you can see, the tomato plants grew so big, we had to put cages up to support them. Also, we have had both a vegetable and weed explosion, so the next cool night, we'll have to figure out what is what and clean it up.

Cameron

Our Garden: Update #2

The garden continues to grow. Everything is getting bigger, and it looks like everything has sprouted. We are now facing some weeds, at least we think we are.

Soccer Skills Sessions

Yesterday, we each had soccer skills sessions. These sessions are taught by older soccer players, instead of our coaches, and focus on individual skills, instead of team skills.

Things started out well enough.

By the end, I was hot and tired.

My session was later in the day. Here I am warming up with Dad.

Watching my fellow players, and planning my attack.
