Destination Imagination

I have been working with my Destination Imagination team for the past several months.  We called ourselves "The Mind Reading Gummi Bears."  We didn't win the competition to make it to the state finals, but we did pretty good for a 3rd grade team.

You can watch our full performance here: http://youtu.be/M2MhOhie9lo

Random Art Projects

The end of the year is always a time when our teachers send home art that has been decorating the school.  Here is our collection -- mostly, it is Ainsley's work.

Ben's self (dot) portrait.

Ainsley's painted turkey.

What Ainsley is thankful for.

Ainsley's hand turkey.  She didn't like it because her teacher painted her hand.

Melted crayon turkey.

More things Ainsley is thankful for.

From the beginning of the year - they had to introduce themselves. Ainsley likes books, cousins, Hammy the hamster, Dora, and dancing.

Bejeweled Christmas tree!

School Project Catch Up

Spring Break is a great time to go through the old school projects and share them with you.

Here is Ben's dinosaur extra credit poster from March.

Here is Cameron's bird head band from the Spring celebration.

Ben's class studied solids and liquids. He did a good job on his reports.

Here's a sample.

Cameron wrote a book about spring and all of the things we see in spring.

Cameron also made this robin.

Some oldies but goodies: the snow flake and the lady bug.

School Project Catch Up

Here are two fun projects that I just brought home from school.
This is a tiger from art class.

This is the outside of my government folder. We got to go to Plymouth's city hall and meet the mayor, among other fun things.

School Project Catch Up

Most of our school projects stay at school for quite a while, at least until there's a seasonal switch and then it all comes home at once.

This is Cameron's symmetrical Christmas color print.

Ben likes a cup of hot chocolate by the fire.

Ben wrote this poem about our wonderful, white winter.

My Gingerbread House

Last week in school, we made gingerbread houses. Dad came to pick me up from school so that it would make it home okay. Here it is from every angle. Give me a call if you'd like a personal tour.

Some First Grade Catch Ups

Here are some catch ups from the end of first grade.

First, my teacher handed out a lot of awards on the last day. Here is one of mine for doing all of my math home links. Did anyone think I wouldn't have all of them done with my mom and dad on the case?

Here is my certificate for achieving my reading goal, which I did twice.

And here is my certificate for completing first grade!

Here are some other things I did in first grade that we filed away today. The first is my book report on Arthur Ashe.

The other two things are from our Mother's Day and Father's Day celebrations.

Be sure to ask me about this one when you come to visit.

Tigers

I forgot to show you all the tiger I made on Monday. We learned a lot about animals that we would see at the zoo, and I chose to make a tiger.
