Book Bowl Champions!

My team won our school district's 5th grade book bowl competition tonight!  We had to read a bunch of books that were nominated for the Maude Hart Lovelace award and answer three rounds of questions about them.  Each elementary school had a competition - we won our school and represented Kimberly Lane at the districts, and then we won the districts!

The Sword of Darrow

I was part of a group of kids who read a book called the Sword of Darrow before it was published. I recently got to meet one of the authors, Hal Malchow, and get a commemorative t-shirt with the other young reviewers in the Twin Cities.

Last night, we went to the bookstore. I plucked a lot of books off the shelf and when it came time to decide what we were getting and check out, I wasn't giving up any of them.

Reading to my Brother

I was feeling better today, so I read my media center books to my brother. He really likes "Duck on a Bike" and "Bear Shadow."
