My Sunday School Project: Fall

Today in Sunday School, I made this pretty fall picture with foam cutouts. My teacher said it was really good and asked my Mommy and Daddy if I was artistic, what ever that means.

A Crazy New Show

Today, we discovered a silly new show called Tom and Jerry. Despite the fact that it is new, Dad has seen most of the episodes before. It's amazing!

Browny Bear

As part of my homework, I had to bring home Browny Bear, have fun with him and write about our time together in the class journal.

First, we played the Wii together.

Then Ben read him a book.

Then we both read him a book.

Cameron's First Day of School - 2008

Today is finally my first day of school! Naturally, it is much cooler out than Ben's first day, which was last week. Here are some pictures of me as Daddy tried to get my smile just right.

Finally, Mommy came to the picture and I was able to smile like a nice young man.

My First Day of School - 2008

Today was my first day of first grade. Here are two pictures of me on our front porch.

And here I am with the entire K-5 part of our neighborhood.

I had a little anxiety getting on the bus, but Daddy carried me on and then I was fine.

Our Review of Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Daddy took us to see Star Wars: The Clone Wars last weekend. It is a cartoon that is really designed as a lead into the animated series that will premier on Cartoon Network later this fall. We read the chapter book before hand, so we had a pretty good idea what the story was. Here is a sampling of our reactions leaving the movie theater:

"It was awesome."
"Can we go buy the DVD?"
"When will it be out on DVD?"
"Can we go see it again?"
"I think Mommy would really like it."

Daddy said something that the animation wasn't all that great, but I think he liked it anyhow, as he's a Star Wars nerd. He also mentioned that some other critics didn't like it due to something called a lack of character development, but Daddy pointed out that we've known these characters our entire lives, so how much more did we really need to know about them? Let's not forget it's a cartoon aimed at introducing the under 10 set to Star Wars, ok?

Anyhow, we're really looking forward to the TV show. In the meantime, Cameron made some characters out of paper. Here is Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Here is Ventress. She is a new character in the Clone Wars.

Here is an ewok. While not in the Clone Wars, he still loves them.

VBS@Northwood: Outrigger Island

Sorry for the delay in getting our most recent adventures out to you all, but we have been quite busy this August. First, we spent a lot of time early in the month down on the farm. Second, we spent the second week at vacation bible school.

The theme was Outrigger Island: Living God's Unshakeable Truth. It was really fun. Here is a picture of us on the last day with our ukuleles. Actually, here are three pictures of us, as it too a lot of time to get Cameron to look at the Cameron.

Here is a photo of all of the crafts and projects we made that week.

Here is a picture of the final, family night presentation. It was really fun!

A Visit from Adrian

You might remember Adrian from our visit to Mexico a few years ago. He was in town and spent the night with us. All we could manage was a photo of the three of us wrestling.

My Last Soccer Game - Kids vs. Parents

My last soccer game was today, versus the parents. We found out it really wasn't my last game, as I have a make up tomorrow, but we still played the parents today.

It was a little crowded. See if you can find me and Mommy.

Mommy started out in goal, as one of the parents six goalies.

Here I am in the middle of one of our many scoring opportunities.

Cameron watched the whole game with Grandma.

Grandma took this neat picture of me, Mommy and Cameron during a water break.

Mommy took this neat picture of me and Grandma, celebrating the kids victory.
In the end, we won 25-3.

Last T-Ball Game of the Season: Kids vs. Parents

We had the last t-ball game of the season tonight. This is a picture of me and my friend Brandon before introductions.

Here I am showboating during the introductions.

The kids got to bat first, so Daddy took the field. He was one of four shortstops.

Here I am up to bat. Not only did I get on base, I ended up scoring shortly thereafter.

In the end, we beat the parents 82-1.

Tonight, I finally shot par for a round of golf on the Wii! Normally, I'm +15 or so for three holes, so this is big!

Our Visit to Three Bears Resort / Jellystone Park

We visited the Three Bears Resort and Jellystone Park in Warrens, Wisconsin this week for the Reemtsma Family Vacation 2008. We rented two villas, pictured below, which we called "villians."

They had a lot of space. We slept up in the loft area with Mom and Dad and everyone else slept down by where Grandpa and Great Grandma Martha are sitting (or in the bedrooms under the loft).

There was lots to do as well. Cameron rode the paddleboats with Mom and Dad while Ben miniature golfed with Grandpa and the cousins.

We also had bedtime stories with Boo Boo the Bear.

We spent a lot of our time here, at the indoor water park. We were also at the outdoor water parks and the beach, but it got hot and sunny and that drove us indoors.

Mostly, we spent a lot of time with our cousins, aunts and uncles, grandparents and Great Grandma Martha.
